Welcome to my blog. I really appreciate you stopping by to check it out.
If you are a business owner and are currently not satisfied with one or more areas of your business, then you are definitely in the right place!
It has now been over 20 years since I started my own business, and I can still remember the thrill and excitement I felt as I set to strike out on my own. Even though I didn’t have a clue as to how to run a successful business, I loved the idea of being in charge of my own destiny and not having someone else telling me what to do. Perhaps, you have had a similar experience as well.
Growing My Business
I managed to survive my first two years of business and then something amazing happened; the business began to grow! This growth eventually supported employees, a larger facility, more equipment, and additional tasks for me to do. Sales were increasing and, from outside appearances, it looked like everything was going well; except, I began to feel trapped on the inside.
Feeling Out of Control
Yes, as the business began to grow, so did the number of things I had to deal with on a daily basis. Instead of working on growing the business, it seemed like most of my time was spent dealing with customers and employees. Every time I turned around, I was putting out some kind of fire. Working longer hours became the norm, and when I did take some time off, I was usually interrupted by employees calling to ask me questions. I didn’t know what to do. I felt I had done all I could and had grown the business as far as I could within my capacity. I began to feel stressed out and frustrated most of the time. The thrill and excitement of starting my business was slowing being replaced by dread and apprehension.
Transforming my Business
I started to look for something that could help make my business fun again but didn’t really know how to articulate what I was looking for. I knew things were not working but I didn’t know why. Eventually, I stumbled upon a business mastery program that I enrolled in for the next four years. My business was transformed into a laboratory in which I could experiment and see the new results as they immerged. As I began to implement changes into the business, one by one the number of frustrations began to fade away. Things began to run smoother, and I was able to work less hours. The overall transformation was quite amazing. It certainly wasn’t because I suddenly became a genius. It happened when I began to focus, measure, plan, and transform specific areas in my business.
This blog is about sharing what I have learned and experienced, and what I continue to discover and apply into my business. Not enjoying my business and being frustrated all the time was a very painful experience to me. If you or somebody you know can relate to this, then I encourage you to sign up to receive my weekly articles.
